Sri Lanka Relief Fund Mission Statement
The mission of the Sri Lanka Relief Fund is to provide humanitarian aid
to the people of Sri Lanka affected by the tsunami of 2004 through:
1. Direct aid to the affected individuals in the form of essential
supplies.
2. Developing programs to provide short and long term shelter and
housing.
3. Facilitating access to health care.
4. Educational and other support for children.
5. Aiding families in becoming self-reliant.
The Sri Lanka Relief Fund is a non-governmental, non-political,
not-for-profit philanthropic organization formed in the year 2004. It
funds its programs through the charitable contributions of private and

Mr. Marcus Charles Bernard Soori
Mr. Soori, who will attend medical school in Fall 2009, has interests in Ophthalmology and Cryonics. He is a Co-Founder and President of the Sri Lanka Relief Fund, which is dedicated to benefiting Southeast Asia Tsunami survivors in Sri Lanka. He serves as the Editor of NSXDriver Magazine, the official international publication of the NSX Club of America (www.nsxca.org). Mr. Soori will also be graduating with JD and MBA degrees from Creighton University in May 2009.

Dr. Gamini Soori, MD, FACP, FRCP, MBA
Dr. Soori is a Co-Founder and Vice President of the Sri Lanka Relief Fund. An American citizen born in Sri Lanka, Dr. Soori is a consultant medical oncologist and hematologist and is the Medical Director of Alegent Health Bergan Mercy Cancer Center and Co-Director of its Bone Marrow Transplantation Program. He is currently the president & chief of medical staff of Alegent Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Dr. Soori is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Creighton University School of Medicine and is actively engaged in clinical cancer research in affiliation with several national co-operative clinical trial groups.

Dr. Chandrika Senarath Soori, MD
Dr. Soori is the Treasurer of the Sri Lanka Relief Fund. She was attending an international medical conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka during the time of the tsunami. She was one of the relief effort’s initial medical volunteers, providing care to tsunami victims in the southeastern seaboard, along with other medical personnel. Dr. Soori was instrumental in helping the Fund to organize a co-ordinated relief program to provide urgently needed supplies directly to the affected. In addition to contributing financially and in person, she was able to obtain additional donations and support from her extended family and circle of friends to continue the relief work. Mr. Y.K. (Sunil) Senarath
Mr. Senarath serves as the Executive Director of the Sri Lanka Relief Fund and is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is responsible for directing all volunteer operations in Sri Lanka. He coordinates purchase, transportation, and distribution of essential supplies directly to the tsunami victims in homeless shelters. He is also responsible for recruiting volunteers to help in the humanitarian activities of the organization. Mr. Senarath has extensive experience in business and management. He has worked in the management of Sri Lanka rubber plantations prior to starting his own business enterprises, which include jewelry stores, real estate and other ventures. read more...

Mr. Nihal Senarath
Mr. Senarath, a Director of the Sri Lanka Relief Fund, is a US citizen and native Sri Lankan working currently as an Engineering Construction Project Manager at Intel Corporation in Portland, Oregon. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Senarath has worked at Intel for ten years: first in San Jose, California, and for the past seven years in Portland, Oregon. He is responsible for managing a budget of $17 million and approximately $75 million scope total at Intel during the past few years. He has extensive construction experience on design, procurement, construction management and project management. Mr. Senarath and his wife Barbara, who is also a University of Minnesota graduate, have been active in the tsunami relief efforts in the Portland area. read more...

Mr. Amerasinghe is a Director of the Sri Lanka Relief Fund. He has a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and several years experience as an educator. Mr. Mannakkara is a Director of the Sri Lanka Relief Fund and is a senior management consultant and accountant working in the private sector in Sri Lanka. He has over 25 years of senior managerial experience in Accounting, Marketing and Management in several public and private sector institutions in Sri Lanka and overseas.
